ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. I came to the United States, with my family, when I was fifteen and settled in Simi Valley, California. I attended Simi Valley High School where I continued with art classes which I had done in South Africa.
After graduating I decided to work on strengthening my portfolio and went to Moorpark College where I took life drawing, painting, graphic design and general education courses. My art instructor in High School would always mention Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA as one of the best art schools in the country to attend and so this became my goal.
Once my two years at Moorpark was complete I came away with a body of work that I thought would get me into Art Center. All throughout my time at Moorpark I was in contact with councelors at Art Center, getting feedback and advice on what I needed to do to make my portfolio strong. I was accepted into the Illustration program not too long after and fulfilled one of my dreams and goals.
After graduating with a BFA in Illustration, my career path took me in the direction of Graphic Design, where I have been ever since. I have been working in the souvenir industry for most of my career designing everything from postcards to books. The projects I have worked on get me involved in different aspects of design such as book layout, packaging, banners, brochures, stationery, websites.
I have been fortunate enough to have utilized my drawing and illustration skills throughout my career. It has been a blessing to be able to have a career where I get to use my skills as an artist and be creative every day. It's great getting up in the morning knowing that my work is enjoyable, fun and challenging.
