ABOUT ME | FAMILY

My family is one of the most important parts of my life. The great thing about my family is that they are always there to lend a supportive hand during tough times and share in the good times.

After the divorce, my Mom, Linda, raised my brother and me by herself with a little bit of help from my Grandparents. To provide a better future for her sons, she gave up the life she had in South Africa and came to the United States. I will always be grateful for the sacrifice that my Mom made by taking those steps.

Linda took it upon herself to provide us with everything we needed. She raised us to be respectful towards others, grateful for the things we have in life and humble in the way we behave and carry ourselves every day.

I can say without a doubt that my Mom is a great influence in my life and someone I look up to. There were and are a lot of strong women in my family and my Mom is no exception. She prepared me for life by giving me the knowledge to succeed as a responsible individual in society and to always keep trying no matter how the chips fall.

I wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support from my Mom and I think my Mom would say I turned out OK. I am fortunate to be blessed with a great family and be surrounded by wonderful friends. Charting a course through life can be difficult at times yet with the tools that my Mom provided for me I know that I will always find the right path.

I couldn't leave without saying a few words about my brother. Jason is like me in so many ways and the opposite in others, but that is what makes our relationship work. He's a supportive, kind, loving person with a quiet temperament to go with it all. Jason is easy to get along with and he's always there to help out and listen. It's great to see how we've grown over the years and been successful in our endeavours. And I also like my brother since he gave me the cutest niece around!
